The thesis should address the broader topic of the course: How does divinity help people make sense of what it means to be human?
Support the thesis by answering these sub-questions:
How do the underlying philosophies and worldviews of Buddhism, Hinduism, and Jainism influence their conception of divinity/semi-divinity?
How does the Vedic religion envision divinity and its relationship to humanity, and how does this change with the emergence of the devotional traditions of the Purāṇas?
How do the Purāṇas and devotional poetry frame divinity in different ways, and how does this make the divine-human relationship more complicated and simpler at the same time?
