This assignment is about using and analyzing data to make decisions. The actual numbers/provided dollar amounts are irrelevant. The intention is for you to interpret how you would use the data to make funding decisions.
Review the CSIP, School Report Card, and IMPACT Survey data documents (see attached) to determine priority areas for funding at Garden Springs Elementary School.
Review the SBDM Allocations Worksheet and then complete page 7 to show how your Sections 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 allocation amounts will be used. (The school does not necessarily receive funding in all of these Sections).
The total amounts budgeted should equal the grand total at the bottom.
Note that it is not necessary for every line on page 7 to have an amount allocated.
Write an explanation of how you have chosen to use your funds, based on supporting data. Make sure to reference the supporting documents and data to justify your choices.
Example: You might use part of the classified allocations to hire an instructional assistant to work with fourth graders in math if that is an area of focus. You might use Section 8 (PD) money for professional development in gifted/talented strategies if the IMPACT survey and/or other supporting data says that is PD teachers need.
Although federal program amounts are not provided, you can assume the school will be receiving some federal funding (such as Title I) and your narrative may reflect proposed uses of these federal funds to supplement your Section allocations.
