The research investigation is focused on exploring the effects of interoceptive accuracy and gender on emotional interpretation. Participants, divided by gender (men and women) and interoceptive accuracy (high and low), are assessed using a heartbeat detection task to measure interoceptive accuracy and an emotional faces categorization task to gauge emotional interpretation. The study aims to test three hypotheses: whether individuals with high interoceptive accuracy are better at emotional interpretation, whether women are better at this task than men, and how gender and interoceptive accuracy might interact in influencing emotional interpretation. The outcomes will contribute to understanding the complex interplay between physiological awareness and emotional processing across genders. Task instructions are attached.Data sheet downloaded into xlxs format. I also have the SPSS data file but it won’t let me upload it. It’s imperative that the SPSS output is put into the appendices and tables are placed into the text.
