For your final essay you will write a proposal argument based on the research you conducted for essay 2. Your essay will clearly identify a problem and what needs to be done to resolve it. Your solution must be feasible and targeted at a specific audience (parents, board of directors, an organization, etc.). Who your audience is should impact the tone and the stylistic choices that you use. Now is the time to be persuasive. Make an argument and support it with your research. Note that as you write this essay you will need to continue to conduct research. The sources you found for essay 2 are a starting point but will likely not be sufficient to write this essay. Your solution will likely not be perfect, so you will need to acknowledge counterarguments and state your case despite shortcomings. Show your reader why your proposal makes sense. Your proposal should: Describe a problem that needs a solution Provide a claim (a proposal of what X or Y should do) followed by the reasons X or Y should act Use evidence to show that your proposal is feasible You must incorporate at least five sources, two of which must be scholarly Details: Your essay should be at least 4 full pages Your essay should follow MLA formatted and citation requirements (must include in-text citations and a Works Cited page) Remember that you can visit the Writing Center for extra credit.
