Visual Analysis- 2 pages- INSTRUCTIONS!
1. Visual Analysis should flow smoothly like an essay and be in paragraph form. Each sentence and paragraph should follow the next logically.
2. Things to include in your visual analysis:
An image of the work at the end of the assignment.
In the text be sure to include the artist’s name, the title of the work, the date, medium, and dimensions if applicable; ex. Ana Mendieta, Untitled: Silueta Series (1978), gelatin silver print, 8 x 9 15/16 inches.
Consider the following as you describe the work of art (keep in mind that not all elements will be relevant to every work of art):
Scale, composition, pictorial space, form, line, color, light, tone, texture, and pattern. Please refer to the Smarthistory video posted to Canvas, which describes in detail how to compose this assignment. Additionally, I have posted an example of a well-written visual analysis for you to refer to as you write your own.
3. Format of the Assignment:
Include your name, the course title, and date of the assignment in the upper left-hand corner of the page, single-spaced
4. The text should be double-spaced, in paragraph form, 12-point font, Times New Roman or Arial
5. The image should appear at the end of your visual analysis
