Students will design and present a therapeutic activity or game for use with children and/or families. The therapeutic activity will take into account the developmental level of the child, issues specific to that child and/or family and the most effective way to use the activity with the child/family. Write a one page essay to present to the class that focuses on the cultural aspects of the activity. You do not have to go into depth about the nature of the activity because you are solely focusing on culture and its impact on working with children of multicultural backgrounds etc. The activity selected is creating puppets with children in therapy and utilizing the puppet to externalize issues the child may have. Research how this activity can be used for young children as early as 5 years old but can also be used for young adolescents as well.
