Organizational culture is a huge buzzword nowadays, but what does it really mean? What does organizational culture mean for different generations and different groups? How can you engage a multigenerational and diverse workforce? Working through these types of questions helps you, as an industrial and organizational psychology practitioner, have a better understanding of the variables involved to influence the organizational culture and the microculture of teams.

Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) can have a very broad and vast definition, depending on the organization. DEI is more than race or heritage, it also includes things like neurodivergence, mental health, and even generational differences.

The purpose of this assignment is to allow you to investigate the influences a multigenerational and diverse workforce has on organizational culture.

Your Unit 6 Learning Activity highlighted the generational differences and likenesses within the workforce along with other information about DEI.

For this assignment, you will want to answer the following questions:

What is organizational culture and how is it formed? Provide examples.

What generations are present in the workforce? Define each one.

How does each working generation impact the culture?

What types of diversity are present in the workforce, and how does that influence the culture?

How do you engage different groups of employees: neurodivergent people, those with disabilities, various racial/ethnic groups, working parents, those of differing sexual preferences, veterans/military?
Explain how to engage for at least three to five of the groups.

What are some ways each generation and diverse population like to be engaged?

How can this information be used to positively impact the organizational culture?

Your assignment should be a 3- to 5-page expository essay, not including the title and reference pages, and should include the following elements:

Title page: Provide your name, title of assignment, course and section number, and date.
Body: Answer all the questions in complete sentences and paragraphs.
Your responses should reflect professional writing standards, using proper tone and language. The writing and writing style should be correct and accurate and reflect knowledge of skills and practice of the profession.
